Cricket and Mantis by KYOSAI YOSHIDA Namiki Emperor "Early Autumn" Limited Production Fountain Pen The Namiki Cricket & Mantis, or Early Autumn was created by Grandmaster Maki-E artist Kyusai Yoshida. The fountain pen is part of the Emperor Collection and is hand-painted with gold, lacquer, and vibrant color utilizing the ancient Togidashi-Maki-e technique. The fountain pen comes in a magnificent wooden presentation box and features an 18k gold nib with rhodium accents. GOLDEN ROSE YUKARI ROYAL This Namiki Limited Edition 'The Golden Rose' is the first Namiki Limited Edition done by Artisan Yutaka Sato san and the first time using a golden based barrel instead of just black lacquer.. He uses a combination of Togidashi-Taka (Burnished-Raised) Maki-e technique with Raden (Mother-of-Pearl) technique to crafted the Namiki Golden Rose. The rose flower is painted using the Taka maki-e and the leaves uses the Warigai (Cracked Shell Inlaid) technique with Aogai (blue shell) to create the necessary depth and contrast giving the necessary dimension to bring the roses alive. The entire pen is in gold color and decorated with 0.8 grams of gold powder. You cannot see a spot of black. This pen is presented in a Inden pouch within a leather-bound gift box with an embossed rose design on the lid. Inden is a Japanese traditional technique to draw a Urushi lacquer pattern onto the deer hide.
